ISO AND IEEE Standards 12207 Project Management

The 12207 standards for software life cycle processes cover five primary life cycle process areas, eight supporting processes, and four organizational processes [IEEE12207] .

The primary life cycle processes are:
- Acquisition,
- Supply,
- Development,
- Operation, and
- Maintenance.

The eight supporting process areas are:
- Documentation,
- Confi guration management,
- Quality assurance,
- Verification,
- Validation,
- Joint reviews,
- Audits, and
- Problem resolution.

The organizational processes are the
- Management,
- Infrastructure,
- Improvement, and
- Training processes.

These processes integrate the customer and supplier processes at the level of individual projects and at the organizational level of customer and supplier.
